:: biography
From a young age I was always interested in art and photography. The first real camera I owned, was an
inherited 1981 Minolta
X-300 SLR. With the X-300 I
took my first
explorative steps with photography in the form of landscape photos.
By 2003 I had started to work with the digital medium. Through time (and many compact cameras!) I sought to gain the sort of control my X-300 had. I then moved to the Canon EOS Digital system. I learned more as I got older, and have travelled to remote places in Scotland to pursue this interest.
I personally get a
lot of satisfaction and motivation from taking photographs and knowing that people take
time to view my work.
In recent years, expanding my Canon EOS system to more professional camera bodies has allowed me to expand my photographic reportoire
and branch out in many styles. This has led to me occasionally securing commissioned work from a variety
of clients for my services, ranging from weddings and portraits to live music and event photography.
Taking photographs of my native country of Scotland is still my main interest. For such a small country, there is so much hidden beauty awaiting to be discovered. By continuing to find such areas and photograph them will allow me to pursue this interest and continue to my quest for the ever elusive 'perfect' photograph. |
